Listed here is a selectip rollerball refill which fits Classic Century, Century II, Townsend, ATX, Peerless 125, Botanica, Bailey, Calais and Beverly Cross collections. 
The Cross company belongs to the few writing instruments manufacturers that produce their own proprietary refills, which means that Cross pens can only be fitted with original Cross refills. 
This refill uses archival ink and the difference between regular inks and this ink is that the archival ink is certified to be nearly chemically inert with the paper and fulfill many other requirements the regular inks don’t. Usually the archival inks are carbon based, and do not contain some chemicals the regular inks do. Therefore they are safe to be used on labels that shouldn’t fade, as well as for writing documents, or keeping records that also need to pass the test of time. 
This refill has a felt porous fine tip which contributes for smoother writing experience than the ones on ballpoint pens with a rotating ball. This tip provides for faster drying of the ink so it prevents it from smearing and it is also convenient to use since it won’t “bleed” and be visible on the other side of the paper. 
The refill can be used on any kind of paper providing for the perfect smooth writing experience.
