Montblanc Models 342 & 042 Monte Rosa Piston Rod
Offered here is an original Montblanc piston rod for models No. 342 & 042 Monte Rosa produced in the 1950s.
This piston assembly and rod are the so-called "star shaped" because the piston rod and the receiving shaft on the turning knob are star shaped in cross section. There is a brass insert inside the rod which accepts the brass spiral from the turning knob, making the piston assembly smooth and durable. The two models mentioned above share the same piston assemblies and are interchangeable, this part will work on either pen.
The rod is made out of hard black resin, it is fitted with an original silicone cork, and the cork is secured to the rod with a special screw-on cap/finial. The rod and cork are original, from the 1950s, ready to be fitted and used on either of these models. These parts are in mint condition, fully functional, taken from original Montblanc pens and ready to be used.
