Offered here is an original an original spare part for Montblanc No. 284 281 & 380 ballpoint pen models. The lever is crafted in solid gold-plated metal construction making them strong and durable. The Montblanc patented mechanism, also known as the "11th finger mechanism", is a special design where a lever is located under the clip thus when the pen is hanged into a pocket, the pocket's fabric sliding under the clip will push the lever and turn the pen off. This was a very clever and very convenient feature that made sure the hanged pen will always turn itself off and prevent incidental ink stains on the fabric. It is also a very precise mechanism that is very easy and fast to deploy. The part is in mint condition perfectly functional and ready to be replaced and used.
