Condition and information:

In the time when this pen was made Montblanc, Pelikan, and other European pen makers were looking up at Kaweco pen designs and models before creating their own. Kaweco was the biggest pen manufacturer in Europe at the time and they stood out from the competition manufacturing the highest quality pens with the best designs.
This model is a predecessor of the Dia model and our long years of work with vintage pens and our research tell us that this is a very rare version and this model must be manufactured only for one to two years. When you hold the pen it is almost like entering a new world and the pen tells its own story of a time and place long gone behind us, and yet with a single touch of the hand at the moment when the pen touches the paper, it brings us back there.

Variations of this model were produced in marbled green, black-marbled with red and white-pearl finishes. The pressure fountain pens came in 1, 2, 3 4, and 6 sizes and were characterized by following a streamlined shape and had an angular Kaweco clip. The Special models are differentiated from the Original models by having one decorative ring instead of two while the Luxe models had three rings. Also, the Special and Original series were fitted with 14K gold nibs, as opposed to the Luxe series which were fitted with 18K gold nibs.

The pen is crafted in high shine and gloss black cellulose and a hard rubber cap top accented with gold plated metal details. The recognizable Kaweco logo stands proudly located on top of the cap and on the clip. It follows a bold cigar shape in Art Deco style which makes a strong statement and catches the eye at first sight. The barrel features an inscription with the Kaweco branding name, logo, and model name.
The pen features a screw-on cap which posts very nicely giving the pen even longer length and balance while writing making it an oversize pen.

Unscrewing the blind cap reveals a push-button since this is a button-filler fountain pen, this filing system works similarly to a lever filler. When the user presses the button it causes the sac to be pressed inside the barrel by a bar vertically. To fill the pen, submerge the nib into the ink bottle, then press the push button 5-6 times. This is quite a unique and pleasant filling system to use and the push knob is precise and responsive filling up very smoothly each time.
The pen is fitted with a truly sharp EF extra fine 14K 585 gold nib over an ebonite feeder, smooth on the paper writing without scratching and fully flexible, will write all bigger sizes, F, M, B, BB & BBB. The nib is so soft it takes just the tiniest amount of pressure for the tines to split, it's a true paintbrush. A real masterpiece nib with line variation on every stroke. This is a massive nib with a 6mm feed diameter which is a big nib by any standards even compared to the Pelikan 400 NN which has a 5mm feed diameter and you can trust our word that when it comes to nibs 1mm makes a lot of difference and size does matter.
The pen fits just right in the hand with a great feel and balance due to its substantial weight. It is easily disassemblable so therefore it is easy to be cleaned and maintained.
Simply an amazing pen by Kaweco, with superior build quality providing for beautiful writing for your everyday writing sessions that only a truly unique and high-quality vintage pen like this one can produce.

The pen comes in near mint condition with visible signs of use and scratches typical for a vintage pen this old, but perfectly operational and ready to be used.
