Condition and information:
This is the original Monte Rosa model the first of the Monte Rosa line made in 1953. This is a rare version made in burgundy red color. The pen is in great condition with minimal signs of use. This model is famous for its reliability, perfection in simplicity, both in design and functionality, perfectly reliable pen. The pen bares the 042G insigina, where "G" in German stands for "Glanz" meaning Shiny. The pen has a classic old style form factor, superb balance, handling and feel, easy to use yet powerful and reliable writing instrument. This is the pen on which the model 342/344 were build, they are nearly identical. Very thick pen, very good grip and feel in the hand. It has a solid brass piston system which can never brake or fail. The trimmings are gold filled. Perfectly clean and transparent large ink window. The stunning feature is that this window will show the true color of the ink, so it looks great when filled. Piston files smoothly and takes a great amount of ink. The nib is suspended on a original ebonite feeder and feed ring. The feeder has a big ink canal, which makes for a very consistent and good ink flow, thus it will write very wet.  The nib is fully flexible EF size, and will write all sizes up to B broad or even double broad BB depending on the applied pressure. A true Montblanc masterpiece classic.
