Condition and information:
An exceptional Montblanc Monte Rosa pen from the late 60's, a very rare model 402SG, which was the successor of the famous 042 models. The model nomenclature is following: The pen model is 402; S stands for Steel cap and G stands for solid Gold nib. The body is made entirely out of black precious resin, the signature Montblanc material which gives the pen a unique shine but also a protection as this material is hard to scratch or damage. The pen's cap is solid steel, matte finish and its a rare slip on cap. This is very convenient for fast deployment and ease of use as there is no tread. The cap's weight gives the pen a perfect writing balance, grip, weight and feel in the hand. Large white Montblanc signature star is located on the top of the cap. Very beautiful rhomboid shaped ink windows, and crisp imprints on the cap "Montblanc Monte Rosa - GERMANY". The piston is smooth with silicone cork and it takes an good amount of ink, once filled it can be used for quite a while. The nib is fully flexible and it is elongated, long and slim thus with a very good viewing angle. With this nib a little pressure is needed to write bigger sizes, simply a sunning writer. The pen will write from EF fine up to BB. It is a non-scratchy nib, just gliding on the paper, with ebonite feeder which provides for a great ink flow. This nib will produce all sizes, simply amazing writing experience. One of the best vintage Montblanc Monte Rosa Pens. The pen is in absolute mint condition, like new.
