Condition and information:
This is one of the most elegant pens made by Caran D'ache, the original Madison model. The pen is made out of Alpaca, also known as the German Silver, which is very shiny and durable alloy made out of Nickel and Silver. The Madison line is still considered one of the most elegant pens ever made. Its almost unbelievable that this pen was designed in the 60's. The pen feels right in the hand, has a perfect grip and balance. It features a twist top knob on/off mechanism, (located at the top of the clip), with a precise on/off action. The serial number is located under the inner threading. Very long, slim but also very heavy pen, which gives it a perfect grip in the hand, balance and writing experience. The pen is in perfect mint condition, no scratches, no dings or brassing, great pen perfectly preserved. There are deep guilloche lines in full length of the body. These are extremely tough build pens, meant to last of generations. The pen has a company insignia on the side "CIBA CEIGY". This is simply a timeless writing instrument, perfectly crafted, one that gets the attention, but also a true workhorse for everyday use. The pen comes with its original CdA Goliath/giant ballpoint refill. There are rollerball refill which also will fit this pen, so the pen can be a rollerball as well.
