This pen is a variant of the famous Pelikan MK line. This is a more rare version M20, also known as MK20 and sometimes even marked as 20 Silvexa line, when it came with a fully steel chromed cap. These were a very solid line of pens from the world famous Pelikan. This Pelikan MK20 Silvexa is remarkable example of the 1970s pen design, features and reliability. The body of this pen is made of shiny, high quality black resin, difficult to scratch or damage, and has chromed metal parts on it (clips and rings). The logo of the company is located at the top of the cap covered with see-through enamel. The pen features a large solid 14K 585 gold nib in fine size, a very precise and smooth on the paper, but with some decent flexibility which was rare for this type of nibs. The nib is super precise, producing exact fine F line when used normally, but with a gentle push it will start to write wider, Medium or even Broad. This was one of the last reiterations of the MK line, so everything was refined and improved. The pen has a constant and smooth ink flow, not skipping due to the overly engineered special feeding system which together with the cap was marketed as an Airplane Safe fountain pen. The pen looks delightfully with the transparent blue ink window. With these ink windows, you will always know when your ink is running low. This pen has the well known Pelikan piston filling system, and the MK features one of the most complex piston mechanisms. This pen looks very attractive and classy. The pen is in near NOS, new old stock never used condition.
