Condition and information:
This is one of the last Pelikan pens that will bare the insignia "W. Germany", it was produced right before the fall of the Berlin Wall. This pen, and the M line was Pelikan ushering in a new era, much of the design had changed, and much of the conventional wisdom in engineering would change as well but always based on the best know-how and quality as only Pelikan can make. The pen is superb in any way, perfect writer, perfect feel in the hand, grip and extremely well balanced, with beautiful grey ink window; smooth piston taking the design from the earlier Pelikan pens. Even though it is a compact pen at ~122mm, it does not feel as such, it lays nice in the hand, and even better when posted. This is the pen that is the replacement of the Pelikan 120 models, having their DNA, but made much later since their production was discontinued and taken over by the MK series up to the late 70s. Pelikan decided that the true low cost fountain pen DNA such as the 120 model is the way to go, even in the 80s and ever since, proven by the launch of the new Pelikan 120 model just a year ago. The highly processed plastic resin material gives it a perfect shine and gloss. The nib is steel with gold plate, M Medium but it does not feel stiff, its has some decent flex, producing wonderful writing, great for long and demanding work on any paper.  The pen is in great condition with minimal to no signs of use, crisp imprints on the ring, nib and best of all, the golden logo inlay on to. One of the first and best M Pelikan pens.
