Condition and information:
The pen set offered here is from the 90s series Montblanc, new at the time the 144, 164 and 165 Masterpiece (Meisterstuck) models. These are early production with 14K nib fitted on a original ebonite feeder, but in monotone 14K yellow color. The ebonite feed provides far better ink flow then plastic. The pens are in absolute mint condition, originally preserved, no scratches, cracks or similar issues and they come in their original box and with original warranty card. The pens feature a classic but a perfect balance, feel and writing experience, perfect for any task, this size, the "4", including the 144 are perfectly balanced pens. The pens are made out of the black resin, the signature material of Montblanc, perfectly shining but also very hard to scratch. One of the best materials to make pens from. The fountain pen has a slip on cap for fast and easy deployment, with a "click" sound when opening and closing. All trimmings are thick gold filled, so no gold ware off can occur.

The ballpoint pen is a twist on/off mechanism. This is one of the most recognized pen shapes in the world. If this form looks familiar, it's not a coincidence, this pen form is one of the most copied pen designs in the world. You can see this entire form factor, or hints of it in pens made by many pen manufacturers, both from household brands to even generic pen manufacturers. This pen was first introduced in the 1970s and soon became one of the most popular Montblanc pens. This form factor is still present in various Montblanc models, and this particular model was produced by the mid 1990s. 

The mechanical pencil is also a twist on - lead deployment action, with nice and precise clicks. Stunning timeless design and amazing performance. It has a solid metal mechanism, very heavy with a perfect grip, feel and balance in the hand. The pencil features a very precise twist on mechanism, where the user is meant to push on the clip sideways, with the thumbnail, while holding the lower part of the body. The lead size is perfect 0.7mm, not too thin and not too thick. Simply pull off the upper section to expose the black eraser, or unscrew the upper section to expose the refill reservoir.
