Leave it to Rotring to come up with the most uniqe mechanical wonders in a writing instrument. Offered here is the original famous 900 Side Knock pencil. These were discontinued many years ago, and were reincarnated in few various models, but are still one of the most valued Rotring writing instruments. The pencil is a remarkable feat of engineering and the only pen with a unique Rotring patent mechanism, where while bending/breaking the pencil in the mid section, the on/off mechanism is triggered. The mechanism is intended to work while holding the pen and pressing anywhere on the upper section with your thumb finger, will make the pencil bend in your hand, trigger the mechanism and deeply the lead. The pen was made in two variants, the matte silver or aluminum color, and the one offered here in a shiny gloss (Glanz in German) highly polished chrome finish. The base is solid steel. The size at 150mm and weight enhance the writing experience, and give the pencil a very good grip and feel in the had. Due to the ribbed body the pen does not slip and makes for a really good grip and feel. The pencil is in excellent condition with minimal signs of use and perfectly functional. A unique and modern design, an instrument of extreme quality and endurance.
