Condition and information:
We are very proud to offer this very special pen, the original 1993 to 1997 Pelikan M730. This pen has a very interesting history. It started its life basically in the mid 1980s as a prototype pen, as one of the contenders for the Jubilee pen for Pelikan's 150 year anniversary, year 1988. However this did not happen, as that glory went to the models M750 and M760. Nonetheless the design sticked around just to be revived several years later as this pen, the official M730 made for little under 5 years. Even in its nearly 5 year run, this pen was made in extremely limited quantities, quantities that today would have easily placed it in a limited edition series, and hence there are not many of these pens left out there.
 
It truly is an amazing pen, taking design solutions from some of the best Pelikan pens and drawing on its reach history. The pen has that "old style" M400 as basis, with a mirror like black resin body and a silver cap. The cap is solid 925 silver with lined "godron like" guilloche lines pattern. These lines also extend to the solid silver turning knob which adds to the charm and appearance. As opposed to the newer M models which has some sort of laser engraved logo on the crown, this one is a physical engraving/imprint as on much earlier models. The cap also has a clear space "blank plate" section for a personal engraving.

Being a M400 based pen, many argue this is the best and most comfortable size pen to use on daily basis. After all, the M400 is based on what was the original 400 model, a golden standard size and form factor even today, nearly 70 years after it was first introduced. Even though compact in length when closed, the pen is very long when posted and a very thick pen that feels just right in the hand. The nice solid weigh also gives the pen a good feel and sturdiness. The pen features a superb F fine two tone nib. This is its original nib as it was originally sold, not an replacement nib. The nib will produce amazing writing as it has some nice flexibility to it, and if pressed gently while writing it will write up to broad or even double broad. Since the pen has been mildly used, it will adapt to its new owner writing style fast. It features a very smooth piston and large ink capacity. Very colorful high gloss see-through green ink window for easy ink level readout. The pen comes in absolute mint condition, minimal to no signs of use, no scratches or dings. One of the best Pelikan pens ever made.
