The Cross 652 Townsend ballpoint pen represents a true elegance and sophistication embodied in a writing instrument. The Townsend line got its name from Alonzo Townsend Cross who was the son of Richard Cross, the founder of the company. The line was influenced by the elegant 1938 Art Deco fountain pens but with their own spin and better-improved shape and design. Cross Townsend is also noted as being the pen of the American presidents today.
The body of the pen is crafted in sterling silver and designed in a beautiful lined design from top to bottom, complemented with black details. The finely made guilloche lines give the pen a nice texture.
The barrel features nice crisp inscriptions with “Cross”, “Ireland”, and the 925 stamp which are located right above the midsection. The clip features nice engraving with the Cross branding name.

The midsection of the pen is decorated with two rings in monochrome silver color separated by a delicate black line matching the one on the cap top. Due to the reflection and shine of the pen, it is hard to depict its true high gloss in photos. The pen is retractable and uses a very responsive twist mechanism which is convenient and easy to use.
