The Cross 655 Townsend rollerball pen represents a true elegance and sophistication embodied in a writing instrument. The Townsend line got its name from Alonzo Townsend Cross who was the son of Richard Cross, the founder of the company.
The line was influenced by the elegant 1938 Art Deco fountain pens but with their own spin and better-improved shape and design.
Cross Townsend is also noted as being the pen of the American presidents today.
The body and the cap of the pen are crafted in sterling silver and designed in a beautiful lined design from top to bottom, complemented with black details. The finely made guilloche design gives the pen a nice texture.  
The cap and the clip feature nice engravings that read “Cross”, “Ireland” and “925”.

The cap of the pen is decorated with two rings in monochrome silver color separated by a thin black line. Due to the reflection and shine of the pen, it is hard to depict its true high gloss in photos.
This is a truly oversize, solid pen both in weight and size, it weighs an impressive 44g without the refill. The significantly heavier weight of the pen contributes for its solid firm feel in the hand and great balance. The cap can be posted giving the pen even longer length and more comfort while writing.
The pen can be a great match if you already own a Cross Townsend fountain pen or if you want to own one but you don’t want to pay the full price for a fountain pen you can simply change the rollerball section with a nib section and actually have them both.

The pen uses Cross fineliner refill but we will supply one additional rollerball and one ballpoint pen refill and the original. The standard Cross refills are easy to replace and are readily available. The refill uses a special gel ink rollerball formula which contributes for a free flow similar to the one of a fountain pen. The pen simply glides on the paper effortlessly offering a great writing experience for your daily practices. 
This rollerball pen can be converted to a ballpoint pen, marker, or highlighter by simply changing the refill.

The pen is in a mint near NOS condition ready to be used.
