We are proud to offer this extraordinary pen, a pen from a long lost German pen manufacturer, the Mercedes Pen Company. The Mercedes company was founded by one of former employees of the famous Matador company, in the mid 20s. Founded in the mecca of the pen making world, Heidelberg in Germany, it was always the underdog in the pen making business, making very few but astonishing pens. Together with the Matador, Adlatus, The Tower and other lesser known companies, they were the vanguards of the pen innovation and design. The Mercedes company made some of the most amazing pens with superb design and unmatched quality, in many ways better then the mainstream pen companies at the time. The pen offered here could not be a better example of that claim. Made in the late 40s or early 50s it is nothing short of the Montblanc Masterpiece pens at the time, even better in some respects. No deformations what so ever, as it were made yesterday, hard rubber and ebonite, perfectly positioned gold filled metal bands on the cap to prevent cracks and even one on the mid body section where rarely someone places a metal band. The pen feels, writes and works like a charm. The long red amber window is connected with the body via a gold filled ring section. There are small chased rings on the grip section to provide better grip. Three bands on the cap where the wide middle one has a hand engraved leaf/wave pattern; Large elongated nib suspended on the precision crafted ebonite feed. All of those features state the intention, the thought and the craftsmanship to build this pen.  To top everything off, there's the nib. A super soft flexible nib which will write in the best way pen could write, fine thin lines when gliding on the paper with no pressure, up to tipple broad with little pressure. The ebonite feed has a large ink canal which feeds the nib constantly. The piston is smooth, very compact and takes large amount of ink. All parts on this pen are its original, only the cork had been replaced with 3 new O-rings which make the piston operate even more smoothly then the original and ensure no ink leaks. The body of the pen is made out of hard rubber, very nice material which feels natural in the hand, and the captop and inner cap sleeve, the turning knob and the piston shaft, i.e. all parts which are susceptible to ink corrosion are made out of the best ink chemicals resistant material - ebonite. The piston spiral is solid metal. The pen also features an red/orange amber long ink window, which is nearly identical to the 50's 142 & 144 Montblanc pens. The pen is in absolute mint condition, nearly impossible to find in such, perfectly preserved with no cracks or scratches, perfectly functional and ready to be used. Extremely well built pen by an extraordinary pen company, a truly rare specimen with beautiful design, worth any collection and a true joy for daily use!
