Condition and information:
A truly unique writing instrument by Cartier, paying homage to Louis Cartier, the person credited for working with Patek Philippe to market the first commercial pocket watches. The pen is simply an extraordinary quality, virtually 1.5mm thick walls with gold and lacquer finish, and most importantly a limited edition, pen. The pen offered here is pen 1067 out of 1847. This Dandy model comes in few variations, and all of them are simply stunning writing instruments as only Cartier can make.  The pen is a special in almost every way, made to leave impression, its oversize pen in all measurements. It is 166mm when posted, and over 56 grams heavy, and it is very thick pen, 1.51cm at the cap and 1.3cm at the body. Besides the unique appeal this gives the pen a unique handling and writing experience. The pen is thick 18K gold plated. The black lines are filled with lacquer finish, this gives the pen a unique luster and shine. A superb crafting precision and quality, all of these pens are made hand by Cartier master craftsman. The grip section is made out of black resin and every part is reinforced with gold filled band or tread. Black jewel is located on top of the barrel. The nib is M size, huge, elongated solid 18K two tone white and yellow gold, smooth on the paper, a perfect writer. It can be used with piston converter or ink cartridges, which are not included. The pen is in good condition with some visible signs of use, mainly some micro surface scratches but nothing compromising to the overall look and feel. The original retails price was well over $2000.
