This is a rare and stunning example of the once very famous Diplomat pen company in Germany; the Attache pen made in the mid to late 1980s, with a very unique color design. This model was designed to follow the Montblanc Noblesse Oblige form factor with a modern design and fast and precise slip on/off cap. The pen has a superb build quality, solid stainless steel base, very heavy and with a perfect manufacturing precision made in West Germany. The pen features a unique beautiful leather like brown lacquer finish, which is a perfect scratch protective cover and a unique shine and appeal. All trimmings are thick 24k gold plate as well as the entire cap. The pen is very heavy, with a great grip, feel and balance, which makes for a wonderful writing experience. "Diplomat Germany" inscribed at the top of the gold plated clip embedded in a transparent plastic. The nib is a pure joy to use, super smooth with a large ball like finish rated B Broad, and it will write on very variable angles due to its shape. Two tone finished gold plate, very smooth, writes perfectly without scratching the paper. The pen is very easy to use and maintain, simple to disassemble; it can be completely dissembled and cleaned. Easy and fast to fit with a new cartridge or piston converter. The pen is NOS, new old stock never used. A truly beautiful and unique writing instrument by Diplomat Germany made in West Germany.
