This is the famous Pelikan pen designed by Luigi Colani pen, No.1, the first Pelikan pen commissioned to be designed by a famous designer. Wikipedia has this to say about Mr. Colani: "The prime characteristic of his designs are the rounded, organic forms, which he terms "bio-dynamic" and claims are ergonomically superior to traditional designs." Mr. Colani designed number of cars and other everyday objects. He is considered one of the most influential designers of the 20th century, designing BMW's, Ferrari's and many other objects. There were many Pelikan No.1 variants and colors, and this Black & Gold is one of the more high-end models. The pen has ergonomically curved shape that fits perfectly in to the hand. This particular pen is all black with gold trimmings, crisps imprints and matte black finish. The matte finish gives the pen a very appealing look, also provides a very good grip. It has a triangular shaped lower body, this makes the pen stand upright when placed on the table. The mechanism is very nice to use, responsive with distinct "click" sound when closing the pen. The pen is in good condition with minimal signs of use. It comes fitted with its original giant Pelikan 337 refill, but a new refill will be provided too.
