Condition and information:
We are very proud to offer this exceptional Montblanc Monte Rosa pen from the late 60s, a very rare model 402SG, which was the successor of the famous 042 models. The pen comes as it was originally sold in the shop, in its original model marked box, instructions and even the original plastic wrapper, they don't come any better than this, a true 50+ year old time capsule. The pen has not been inked, except for testing, perfectly clean and perfectly preserved. The model nomenclature is following: The pen model is 402; S stands for Steel Slip on cap and G stands for solid Gold nib. The body is made entirely out of black precious resin, the signature Montblanc material which gives the pen a unique shine but also a protection as this material is hard to scratch or damage. The pen's cap is solid steel, matte finish and it is a nice slip on cap for fast and easy deployment. This is very convenient for fast deployment and ease of use as there is no tread. The cap's weight gives the pen a perfect writing balance when posted, the grip and weight provide nearly perfect feel in the hand. Large white Montblanc signature star is located on the top of the cap. Very beautiful rhomboid shaped ink windows, and crisp imprints on the cap "Montblanc Monte Rosa - GERMANY". The piston is smooth with silicone cork and it takes an good amount of ink, once filled it can be used for quite a while. The nib is fully flexible and it is elongated, long and slim thus with a very good viewing angle. With this nib a little pressure is needed to write bigger sizes, simply a sunning writer. The pen will write any thickness line from EF/F fine up to BB. It is a non-scratchy nib, and since its new-never used it will fast adapt to its new user writing style, just glides on the paper. The pen has horizontal fins ebonite feeder which provides for a great ink flow. These are one of the first Montblanc feeds with horizontal radiator fins. This nib will produce all sizes, simply amazing writing experience. It is also easily removable simply by unscrewing the entire feed-nib unit, so one can get easy access to the inner section and barrel and wash the pen with tap water, keeping it clean when not in use. One of the all time best vintage Montblanc Monte Rosa Pens in a true NOS new old stock condition.
