In the late 90s, Parker needed a new pen to replace the highly successful 75 pen. The fountain pen market was struggling during this time, and many pen manufacturers suffered a lot. In the early 90s, Parker was working on two pens, the Insignia and the Sonnet line. These new pens were manufactured with new technologies available at the time, i.e. super high precision machinery, and this was both visible and tangible. Finally, the Parker Sonnet was launched in the mid-90s.
The simple yet elegant form attracted many customers, the pen was well marketed, and there were dozens of various models.
The Sonnet was and it still is a great success. It has several model iterations in these 20+ years of production, but they are all minor changes on the same theme. The pen here is one of the latest models, made from solid 925 silver, made in 2011 and still in production and today at a retail price ranging from $315 to $395 USD.

The pen here is made from a 925 silver with a nice nickel-palladium coating giving it that subtle fine rose gold look. It is a large crosshatch pattern that stays firm in the hand and does not slip, nor it leaves any fingerprints as the pen is also brushed finishes.
It is a very heavy and well-balanced pen, with its classic form factor, cigar shipped, simple yet powerful. It has a distinct click sound when closing the cap, posting it's very easy as well, giving the pen the full length and balance it needs.
The nib is rare solid 18K gold rhodium plated in order to achieve the "white gold" finish, and surprisingly very soft, which is not common on newer pens. It has some small flex with tine separation so it will achieve some line variation from F to M and maybe even B broad if pressed harder. It's a very smooth nib since never used it will adapt to the new user fastly.
 
The pen comes in NOS never used condition in its original box with papers and original Parker piston converter as included when sold. It can be also used with standard Parker cartridges.
