The popular upscale Targa line was first presented in 1976 in a variety of finishes and the users could choose between classic and slim sizes.
The first version of the Targa 1002 model was produced between 1980 and 1988 and featured a matte black derby. Pen here belongs to the later second model edition which is characterized by its shiny silver chrome plated derby, which is finished with a flat circular form in black color and it features inscriptions with the Sheaffer branding name and “U.S.A.”.

The pen is crafted in matte black metal body and decorated with chrome plated trimmings. The quality metal material makes for a sturdy pen made to last for generations.The Sheaffer signature white dot stands proudly on the top of the clip. The pen features a slip on cap with a nice precise closure which produces a nice satisfying click sound. The cap can be posted in order to give the pen longer length and better balance while writing.

The pen uses standard Sheaffer ballpoint refills, the original one comes with the pen although it can be depleted soon you can use it for future purchase reference. It can also be fitted with Schneider Topball 850 refills. The pen is easy to write with since it glides onto the paper smoothly producing fluid lines. Due to its good built quality the pen is very comfortable to hold with a nice feel and grip in the hand, it is the perfect choice for long writing sessions with no fatigue.
