The Waterman Carene pens are some of the most technically advanced and precision-crafted Waterman writing instruments. The pen offered here is crafted in high shine black lacquer over a solid steel base and thick gold plated details.
The design of the pen follows the theme of the powerful energy of the ocean and the movement of the waves is replicated in the guilloche pattern of playful lines on the cap. Almost as if the subtle waves are caressing the shore which is presented through the black lacquer. The pen follows a tapered shape finished with a beveled end of the cap which reminds of a tail of a mermaid.
The cap features nice crisp engravings that read “Waterman” and “France”.

The pen features a snap on-off cap with a nice distinct click sound when opening or closing, super precise thanks to the clutch-cap mechanism making it convenient and easy to use. Carene series are large pens, one can feel and sense the incredible amount of thought, precision, and engineering that went into making these pens.
The pen features a very practical and flexible spring-loaded clip that retracts into the cap instead of bending when being opened, and this function prevents the clip from bending or breaking when put on a thicker coat fabric or notebook cover.
