The first generation Waterman Hemisphere series was made in the early 1990s. This pen was succeeded by the HII model, which is nearly identical in form factor but has larger trimmings, more similar to the Waterman Expert. In 2004 the Waterman company introduced three metallic finishes metallic blue, green, and cognac but the green and cognac were discontinued by the end of 2007.
Pen listed here features a highly sought after blue metallic finish over a solid steel base accented with chromed trims. This matte finish, gives the pen a great grip, scratch protection, and doesn’t leave hand oil; it feels smooth and nice in the hand. The pen features a modern design with traditional Waterman lines and the famous Waterman clip. It follows a slender slightly tapered form at the ends. The cap band features nice crisp engravings that read “Waterman” and “France”.

The pen is fitted with steel, F fine size nib; it is a good precise writer with constant smooth ink flow with no mess on the paper. The nib features nice crisp engravings with the company branding name, logo, and the size of the nib.
It features a slip on-off cap with a satisfying click sound which can be posted giving an even longer length and balance of the pen while writing.
The pen is ergonomically great, heavy with great grip, balance, and feel in the hand, posted or not.
It can use any standard international converter or cartridges, so it's easy to find supplies for and use daily.
The set comes in an original Waterman box together with a nice matching notepad as it was sold. These kind of gift sets are a true rarity as they were available several years ago only.
