Great 80’s high quality vintage mechanical pencil made by Pilot,the largest pen manufacturing company in Japan. The pencil is crafted in high quality thick plastic body in blue color with metal parts which together create a sturdy reliable pencil. The design of the pencil is complemented with two metal rings and a metal clip. The front part of the barrel features inscriptions that read “2020 Rocky”, “0,5” and “H525” and the back of the barrel features stamps with “Japan” and the pilot branding name.

The pencils features an advanced push button and shaker lead advanced mechanism. The leads can be pushed onward by either pushing the top button or by using the “sheaker” mechanism. There is a small metal weight inside that presses on the pencil mechanism when you shake the pencil hard enough to simulate you clicking on the top button of a traditional mechanical pencil. It is a pretty simple design but it must have taken some serious work to make a functional click button and also have a shaker mechanism that advances the lead which needs some serious engineering.
This pencil is ideal for those who don’t want to be slowed down by the traditional mechanical pencil push button mechanism because when the user needs to advance their lead they need to flip their pencil click the top button, flip it back and reposition their grip and with this shaker pencil they just need to flick their wrist once or twice and they are back to their work. The pencil also features a hidden replaceable eraser which is located under the cap.

The grip section of the pen is thicker and textured providing for a non slippery comfortable writing experience. The pencil uses 0,5mm leads which are strong, durable, and easy to erase.
