Condition and information:

The most famous Pelikan pen, the model 140, here in a rare edition, the all black model. The Pelikan 140 is one of the most sought after Pelikan pens, extremely reliable and perfect writer for all kinds of uses. It features the original 1955 nib with the signature Pelikan nib curvature which gives it a very nice viewing space and flexibility while writing. This nib is remarkably soft and flexy. It melts on the paper as soon as it touches it, paintbrush like flexible. It will produce all possible sizes with the gentlest push while writing, up to 3B if pressed gently. The nib is smooth, glides on the paper, very precise. It's suspended over the original ebonite feed, which provides for a constant ink-flow and no skipping. More importantly it has the original ebonite/hard rubber collar/feed ring, which holds the nib to the feed. This small but crucial part was later changed to plexiglas like material which almost always cracked and rendered many 140 pens useless. This original early production ebonite collar is semi-flexible and never cracks. The Piston filling is very smooth and easy to use, takes a considerable amount of ink each time, with the original double seal silicone cork which never leaks. These were the first Pelikan pens to use the silicone cork which later became industry standard. All metal parts are gold filled, so unlike gold plate, the gold filling will never ware out. Very clean body, crisp transparent green ink window and engravings. Logo is located on top of the cap. The pen is in mint condition with minimal signs of use, no scratches or cracks. Superb unique writer and a reliable everyday pen, timeless design, classic form factor, a stunning looks and perfect writing instrument that will last for decades.
