This is a special sub model of the 4383 triangular pen, here in a rare green-black round variation, with black cap, while the body is vintage olive green. The design is really funky, retro style. Unscrew the pen, and you will see the beautiful clear ink windows, through them you can see how much ink has left in it. The 4383 model is one of the most beautiful and extremely reliable Reform pens, that outperforms the best fountain pens, simply it features everything a true fountain pen should. These are one of the best pens ever to be made by Reform; perfect grip, weight, feel in the hand, with great balance and handling. The pen glides across the page and it is a true pleasure to write with. The nib is extraordinary, 14K 585 nib, F size, very smooth on the paper with a super flexibility. The tines of the nib split apart as soon as it touches the paper, with little to no pressure. This will easily change the line thickness on every stroke. Writing with such a nib is a pure pleasure, as from an F fine size, varies to medium lines to very wide double broad BB line and even wider, mimicking all nib sizes. Very beautiful clear see through ink windows. Piston is smooth with a silicone cork which always makes for a perfect fit within the body and will never leak. Reform was few decades ago, one of the biggest pen producer in Germany, they produced millions of pen per year, and it was maybe the most loved pen brand in Germany, many people had a Reform pen. The pen is in a mint condition, near NOS new old stock, with no visible signs of use. About the company <br>(Source Ravens March): The Reform company was a child of the Great Depression, a crutch extended by two other companies to lean upon in the economic crisis. One of these companies was in fact named Reform previously, and it is this portion of the entity of that name which sold out in 1956 to Ernst Rodenhäuser. The other company was called Certo, and the long-lived pen company bearing the name Reform used a winged letter as a trademark; it was just a matter of swapping a C for an R. Certo had been established in 1929 and entered its union with Reform in 1938. This combined company quite flourished, and over the years absorbed some other makers of pens or their components.
