A very rare sub model of the original 140 model, this is a flagship 140 with gold trimmings and with original genuine leather presentation box. Exclusive Senator pen set consisting of the famous model 140 fountain pen and the model 840 ballpoint pen. This is one the best Senator sets we ever offered for sale, nearly impossible to find in such condition, simply NOS new old stock never used, a time capsule. Both pens are made of highest shine of black resin which always shine as new and is difficult to scratch. This pen was manufactured by the famous Merz & Krell Pen Company, which was famous for manufacturing entire pen lines for Pelikan such as the 120 model type II and the rare 400NN Merz & Krell model as well as parts and nibs for many European pen companies. This company had many brands under its name, including Senator, Diplomat, the famous Melbi and others. Senator was their main brand in the late 60's and early 70's.

The model 0140, one of the very few Senator pens made by precious black resin, the signature material of Montblanc. The nib is amazing, marvelous writer, super smooth on the paper, EF (extra fine) size, but with full flexibility! As soon as the nib touches the paper the tines come apart, with little to no pressure. What this nib does is remarkable, it changes thickness of the line with the tiniest pressure applied while writing. The writing is unique that varies from very fine to triple broad 3B, it can express your emotions while writing. The nib is ebonite providing perfect and constant ink-flow. The pen is highly ergonomic, perfect length and thickness, very good grip and feel in the hand. Silicone cork and smooth piston action with a unique turning knob cap for protection against leaks. The ballpoint pen is made of black resin, and features a groves grip section and a push-button mechanism. The ballpoint pen takes standard slim metal refills, a new refill is included with the pen. The set comes in its original genuine leather hardcover black case with gold trim and velvet and silk lining.
