A highest class Kaweco pen at the time, to rival Montblanc's Masterpiece models.
This is a very rare blue cap top Kaweco 36 D - Durchschreiber featuring great appeal and functionality that only vintage pens like this one have.
The pen is crafted entirely out of black resin, which is highly tempered plastic that gives the pen a high shine but it also makes it physically more protected and scratch resistant. This is the best material to make pens from because it feels natural and will always give that brand new look to the pen. The elegance of the black resin is perfectly complemented with the gold-filled trimmings which give the pen an even more sophisticated look.
The gold-filled logo of the Kaweco company stands proudly located on the top of the cap.

The pen features a screw-on/off cap that can be posted giving the pen a longer length and balance while writing.
The pen is fitted with a D-EF nib, meaning "write-through" nib, where the nib is so stiff, it is actually meant to be used for writing carbon copies. As opposed to the standard nibs, D nibs only had a couple of sizes, DEF or DF, D extra fine or D fine, as there was no point in making stiff nibs in various sizes. Besides the slight difference in form factor, the main difference from a standard nib with a D nib is its thickness.
The D nib on this pen is at least 2 times thicker than a standard nib. The stiffness would allow the user to press very hard when making carbon copies and make several at once, while the nib will retain its shape. Since the size is EF, the carbon copy would also produce an extra fine line. The thickness of the nib makes it more resistant so even if the pen is dropped face on the nib, the nib won't bend. The pen features its original factory fitted blue cap top. This was done in order to easily differentiate the one one with the D nib from the other pens with regular-sized nibs. Even though the nib is size D it feels smooth, unlike other steel nibs which can feel stiff. The nib is suspended over the original large ebonite feed, with large ink canals providing constant and uninterrupted ink flow.
The pen uses a piston filling system that works perfectly and smoothly and it takes a good amount of ink, so once filled it will last for a while.
This is an efficient, practical, well-balanced pen, with a great form factor, which provides for a great feel in the hand.

It comes in mint condition, with minimal to no signs of use.
