Condition and information:
Offered here is a very rare Montblanc ballpoint pen model from the 1960s, a No. 49. There came in few colors, and usually in set with some 4xx models, and hence were produced for a very limited time, 1-2 years and only few still exist today. The pen is also called a Traveler. This pen looks so familiar today but this shape and form factor were the first on the market made by Montblanc in the late 1960s and early 70s. Basically most of today's modern ballpoint pens are in some way copies of this pen's from factor. The pen is a push button mechanism, precise with nice clicks. It comes with its original refill, the Giant type. The refill still writes, but we will include a new moded refill which will make the pen fully usable. The pen is in good condition with minimal signs of use, but no cracks, scratches, dings or any personal or company engravings. The pen is very well balanced with good grip and feel in the hand, simple yet very appealing and reliable Montblanc pen. Montblanc white star is located on top of the push button.

***In the last photo there is a guide as to how to convert a common type ballpoint refills that we have readily available today, to fit any Montblanc ballpoint pen from the late 1950s all throughout 1960s and some even from early 1970s, that use standard or Giant size Montblanc proprietary refill that are not manufactured any longer. Shown is just one of the methods, even though there are a couple of other modes. In order to give the pen more weight, and with that a nice solid feel and balance in the hand, we recommend using the Schneider G1 refill as opposed to the 575 (A2) refill, though the latter works just as well.
