Offered here is a rare version of the famed Senator model 0140 was manufactured by the famous Merz & Krell Pen Company, a company also known for manufacturing entire pen lines for Pelikan such as the 120 model type II, the rare 400NN Merz & Krell model as well as parts and nibs for many other European pen companies. This company had made pens under many brands, including Senator, Diplomat, the famous Melbi and others. Senator was their main brand in the late 60's and early 70's. This pen here also like its black counterpart is made out of the special high shine resin, but it blue-green soft teal color. This material is highly reflective, shiny and its scratch resistant. The nib is a superb writer, very smooth on the paper, F fine size, comparable to even EF, but with full flexibility. As soon as the nib touches the paper the tines come apart with little to no pressure. The nib produces varying thickness line with every stroke. The writing is unique and varies from very fine to double broad BB; in the fountain pen world these sensitive nibs are said to express emotions while writing. The pen is highly ergonomic, perfect length and thickness, very good grip and feel in the hand. Silicone cork and smooth piston action. The entire feed unit is unscrewable, meaning it can be disassembled easily in order to clean the piston inside the pen. The pen is mint near NOS, new old stock condition, never used or ink expect for testing. This is one of the best and great Senator pens ever made, a perfect everyday pen, yet a unique performance pen with amazing nib.
