Condition and information:
One of all time best Senator pens, special pen in many ways, and the fact is that this a pen made by the same factory who build the Pelikan 120 Type two pen. This pen was manufactured by the famous Merz & Krell Pen Company, which was famous for manufacturing parts for many pen companies including Pelikan, Reform and others. This company even manufactured entire pen lines for Pelikan such as the 120 model type II and the rare 400NN Merz & Krell model. They had many brands under its name, including Senator, Diplomat, the famous Melbi and other. Some of the features of this pen are nearly identical to some Pelikan and Reform pens.

The nib is amazing, marvelous writer, super smooth on the paper, it is a large nib, similar to Pelikan's 400 nib, its F (fine) size but with a full-flex. As soon as the nib touches the paper the tines come apart with little pressure, thus the written line changes thickness with ever stroke. The writing is unique that varies from very fine to medium lines to very wide lines up to double broad BB even a 3B if pressed harder. The pen is highly ergonomic perfect length and thickness, very good grip and feel in the hand. One of the best features is the elongated ink window. This is one of a few piston pens where the user can see the status of the ink even if the pen is closed as the cap doesn't cover the ink window all the way. This ink window will change color to whatever ink is being used as its a clear color. Piston is smooth, only 2 moving parts made out of stiff rubber, which always makes for a perfect fit within the body and will never leak. The piston and in fact the whole body are identical to the Pelikan type II - Merz & Krell pen. A superb Senator pen by the German Merz & Krell Pen Company, amazing writing  experience, extremely well build meant to last and endure hard work for years, yet with great appeal. Mint condition, minimal to no signs of use, no scratches, cracks or any functional or cosmetic issues.
