Unfortunately this pen is one of the last Reform fountain pens made in the late 80s, soon before the company closed down in the early 1990s. The Reform company was founded in Heidelberg Germany in the early 1930s and was at one time one of the largest pen manufacturers in Europe. This is one of the very last, if not the last, fountain pen models made by Reform in late 1980s and early 1990s. The pen features the same characteristics featured in its very successful predecessors such as the models 4383, 4282, 4000 and many other. However this pen its taken to another level of quality made to compete with Montblanc's and Pelikan fountain pens. The pen has a similar design form factor, even a two tone nib, and it is also nearly identical in size. Unlike other resin pens, this is made entirely out of metal, where the black resin are basically the trims. It is fully gold plated but finished with extravagant, beuaituful Barleycorn guilloche pattern which gives it some stunning looks.
 
The pen is stunning, high shine and gloss, it is solid, strong and heavy. This basic/classic torpedo shape feels right in the hand, it is superbly balanced pen. The nib is steel, a bit oversize nib in two tones, very smooth and precise on the paper, with normal ink-flow, very clean, no mess, very easy to remove and easy to maintain as it is a simple slip on nib, simply pull it away and it comes over together with the feed. The line width is Fine to Medium and will vary depending on the speed, pressure and angle at which the pen is used.
The pen can use any standard international cartridge, or a piston converter, thus a very simple and easy pen to use on daily basis.  Overall the pen is one of a superb build quality that will perform flawlessly and trouble-free for decades. One of the last pens from the great German Reform pen company, a piece of history and a great writing instrument.
The pen is in perfect mint condition, no scratches or cracks ready to be used.
