Offered here is a Special Edition Parker Sonnet, called the Crocodile, made only in 2006 by the Parker French plant. The peculiar thing about this pen is that every literature states it is made out of 925 Sterling Silver base which is gold plated, i.e. Vermeil. However there are no 925 marks/stamps on the pen, and yet the pen tests as indeed made from silver. Either way, this being silver, alpaca, or similar composition metal covered with gold, the pen is stunning.
These Parker Sonnet pens are a completely new approach in pen design and technology. Manufactured with new technologies available at the time, i.e. super high precision machinery, and this was both visible and tangible.
This resulted in simple yet elegant forms made out of metal, which was impossible just a few years earlier, with delicate/intricate precise patterns and finishes, streamlined with natural shapes and curves. It has a large crosshatch rectangular pattern with deep grooves, making it stay firm in the hand and does not slip.
The nib is rare solid 18K gold two-tone rhodium plated and surprisingly very flexible as only a few Sonnets are. It will flex as soon as it touches the paper and it will easily write all sizes from M up double broad BB. Even though it is rated M, the nib without any pressure performs as F, fine. It's a very smooth nib, writes without skipping, and has constant ink flow.
Original Parker piston converter is included, though the pen can be used with standard Parker cartridges.
