Markant, meaning “striking” or “distinctive” in English, was an East German Company. They live up to their name with this pen, having produced a bold and compelling piece with a timeless classic and elegant design. Pen was made in the 1970s and it was a direct response to Montblanc’s Noblesse Oblique series, being nearly identical in size, shape and form factor. Pen is composed of stainless steel, silver plated and has a brushed finish. This is a very heavy and long pen with an amazing feel and grip in the hand. Its nib is a very smooth stainless steel M medium size. It is soft, flexing but producing a constant line, it does not feel as a stiff steel nib, quite rare feature, a very smooth writer; it will not scratch the paper while writing. The nib is quite smooth, and even though it is made out of steel, it flexes for a pleasingly smooth feel and produces consistently beautiful results. Pen is a cartridge filler, it uses standard international cartridges; either standard or double size. Pen is very easy to open and to maintain. It is also very easy to clean, and its brushed surface ensures it will remain beautiful with little maintenance. This pen is a true generational investment as it is nearly impossible to damage.
