Condition and information:
One of the most unique Diplomat pens we've ever offered. The pen was made in the late 1980s. The pen has a unique rarely seen design, one of its kind, a very compact size when closed and almost full length when posted, with a clean cylindrical form-factor and clipless cap. The base of the pen and all metal parts are made out of alpaca, also known as German silver. This material simply shines, and its properties are nearly identical to silver. The cap posing is with a tread, so one needs to screw the cap on the back of the pen. This makes the pen feel sturdy, and becoming to nearly full length. The compact size of the pen allows it to be stored in any pouch, case and even a bigger wallet. The pen has a stunning overlay finish, beautiful blue lapis lazuli marble lacquer finish. Even if compact the pen feels heavy, with a great grip, feel and balance, which makes for a wonderful writing experience. The nib is steel, very smooth B broad size. This nib reminds very much of Peter Bock nibs, its a standard size and meant to be replaced easily, so if the user wishes, he/she can replace the nib with a gold nib, preferably white gold so it fits the theme of the alpaca silver. The build quality is superb, only as a true German pen craftsmanship can be. The pen is in absolute mint condition, near NOS. A truly beautiful and unique writing instrument.
