Condition and information:
One of the most beautiful and most reliable vintage Reform pens. These are one of the highest quality pens manufactured by Reform. The pen offered here is in a beautiful burgundy red color, giving the pen a very unique vintage but subtle look. Most importantly, the pen is in absolute NOS - new old stock condition, never inked, rarely found in such condition nearly 50 years after it was made. The Triangular 4383 are made out of high quality plastic resin, which has a high shine and gloss but it is also a very durable material, and one of the most natural and best material to make pens from, it is also more scratch resistant than other plastics. The design and shape of the pen follow the style at the time, very similar pen to Montblanc Monte Rosa pens, Senator and other pens, but here in a unique triangular ending shape, where both the turning knob and the cap end in this shape.

The pen has excellent grip, weight and feel in the hand. At almost 140mm closed and posted at 165mm, it has a great balance and handling, posted or not. The nib extraordinary 14K 585 nib, EF size, very smooth on the paper but with a full flexibility, rarely seen on newer pens today. Very beautiful nib, elongated nib with beautiful shape and wide tines, crisp and beautiful imprints, simply a joy to look at. In such a nib the tines of the nib split apart as soon as it touches the paper with little pressure. This nib changes thickness of the lines with every stroke. Writing with such a nib is a pure joy, as from an EF grade (extra fine) varies to medium lines to very wide double broad BB line and even wider, mimicking all nib sizes. The nib is placed over a ebonite feed with perfect and constant ink-flow. The entire nib unit is easily unscrewable, providing access to the section and the piston, making it easy to clean and maintain, and even to easily swap nib units. The piston is very smooth with a silicone cork, filling the pen easily each time to the top.  Extremely well build pen, meant to last and endure hard work for decades, yet with great appeal and amazing performance, one of the best vintage fountain pens ever made.
