Condition and information:
One of the most beautiful Pelikan pens ever made, the M60/60 rolled gold pen. This is the much rarer piston filling version model, as opposed to the same pen that used cartridges. The pen was the Pelikan flagship of the 60's M line. Stunning pen with extraordinary build quality, offered here in mint condition with minimal to no signs of use, rarely found in such condition as these were very rare pens produced in very limited numbers. The pen features the newly developed at the time piston filling system, which together with the complex feed system and cap, prevented accidental ink leaks, and was marketed as an "Airplane Safe Fountain Pen". The piston fills smoothly and the knob operates perfectly. These are one of the most reliable and elegant Pelikan pens, extremely well build, meant to last and endure hard work for generations. Beautiful clear see through purple ink window for ink level readout. The nib is very unique, 18K solid 750 gold, flexible at the middle but without the tines spreading apart. This feature allows for the pen to feel smooth while writing, not rigid and stiff like the new fountain pens. This is a perfect pen to use for notebooks, or pocket notebooks, where the pen is not too wet and does not stain the paper with excess ink, precise always producing the same nice slim line writing. The pen is easy to clean and maintain, the rolled gold will prevent rust and oxidation. Pelikan logo located on top of the cap. A stunning Pelikan pen with a piece of history attached to it, and a superb quality and reliable fountain pen.
