One of the most beautiful and certainly the rarest Pelikan 140 model, the burgundy red model which was manufactured only briefly and it was mainly designated for export. The model 140 is probably the most famous Pelikan pen, and its one of the most sought after Pelikan pens, extremely reliable and perfect writer for all kinds of uses. The pen combines a lot of features available in the upper class pens, but with extreme reliability and stunning vintage appal and form factor. It features the original 1950's nib with the signature Pelikan nib curvature which gives it a very nice viewing space and flexibility while writing. The nib has a very good flexibility, it will write any size from its starting grade EF fine, to M medium, B broad, and even BB double broad. The nib is smooth, gliding on the paper, very precise. It's suspended over the original ebonite feed, which provides for a constant ink-flow and no skipping. The Piston filling is very smooth and easy to use, takes a considerable amount of ink, with the original double seal silicone cork which never leaks. These were the first Pelikan pens to use the silicone cork which later became industry standard. Beautiful bright-green clean ink window. All metal parts are gold filled. Very clean body, with crisp burgundy color. Logo is located on top of the cap. The pen is in NOS, new old stock never used condition, rarely comes for sale in such amazing condition.
