Made in the early to mid 1950s, this is one of those early new post war era Montblanc pencils that paved the way to the modern company we know today. This is also one of the first Montblanc Pix pencils made of out of Black Resin, the signature Montblanc material. This black resin is a specially tempered material which gives the pen a unique shine and gloss but also a tough protection, as this material is harder to scratch or damage. Pens made out of black resin will always shine like new and are highly reflective. The pencil is unusually heavy, the entire mechanism is made out of solid brass, and also enclosed in a solid brass cylinder. It features a very precise push button repeater mechanism, flawless to this day, extremely precise with a distinct "click" sound when activated, and with very precise lead deployment; the build quality is amazing. The pencil has that soft 50s design right prior the models of the modern 60s era with more sharp edges. The push button is especially district, with a flat extruded push knob. Due to its weight it has a great grip and feel in the hand, very ergonomic. All metal parts and the clip are gold filled. The reservoir can take up to 15 1.18 leads (5 are included), and with a lead of this diameter it could be extended as much as 3-4mm in front of the tip, thus it will provide an great viewing space and ease while drawing. These pencils are simply one of the best pencils ever made, not just by Montblanc, but among other manufacturer as well, and are still hard to match today. Best of all, the pencil comes in its original box as sold nearly 70 years ago, in absolute mint condition, no scratches, no dings or cracks and crisp imprints.
