Listed here is a rare and beautiful Reform 6488 piston filler fountain pen. This is one of the best highest quality fountain pens manufactured by Reform.This pen was a direct answer to Montblanc's 3X and 2X series of the late 1960's, as well as their Monte Rosa series. This pen is even identical in some aspects to some Monte Rosa pens. The pen is also very similar to the famous 4383 triangular Reform models.
The pen has a round shape and features a special hooded nib, inspired by the Parker 51. Each European company had to make one, so Reform did as well.
It is crafted in high grade black resin, the signature material of Montblanc, which gives the pen a great shine but it’s also a tough material difficult to scratch or crack so it physically protects the pen. The beautiful shiny back resin and the gold plated metal parts complement each other perfectly creating an elegant pen.

The pen features a screw on/off cap which posts nicely giving a longer lenght and balance to the pen while writing.
The pen is fitted with a hooded EF extra fine size nib which features great flexibility. Among other benefits, the hooded nib provides more protection for the nib. The tines of the nib split apart as soon as it touches the paper, with no pressure. The performance of this nib is remarkable; it changes the line thickness with little to no pressure while writing. The writing is unique, as from an EF size varies to medium lines to very wide lines up to triple broad 3B, mimicking almost all nib sizes, it can even express emotions while writing.
Very ergonomic, well balanced, with smooth piston action. Piston takes a lot of ink and can be used for a long time once it's filled. Silicone cork ensures no ink leakage. The feed is ebonite providing perfect and constant ink flow. The pen can be very easily disassembled, the entire front section simply unscrews, which is rare in piston fillers, but it's very convenient as it exposes all parts for simple tap water washing when not using the pen.
This is one of the best Reform pens ever made, and also one of the best among all pen makers, everything a fountain pen should be.
