Condition and information:
The 888P model is the successor of the famous 88K piston filling model. Launched a decade later, this was the successor of the 88 pen, but now the then more popular cartridge model, i.e. the P designation. Aurora is one of Italy's best pen manufacturers. They made some of the best pens in Europe, and some significant breakthroughs in the pen making business. The pen is made out of back resin, with a simple yet very elegant smooth torpedo design. This pen is part of the 98 model family which was launched few years later. The pen can be convenient to use with cartridges or it can be used with standard converter. Drawing from its predecessor, this pen has the same form factor as the 88K, which some users argue this is the pen with the purest and most elegant form factor, fits in the hand as it was meant to be, with a perfect feel, weight, handling and grip. The pen is elegant, stylish, with hooded wing nib. Very fine guilloche lines from top to bottom on the gold plated cap. There is a "888P" imprint on the section as well as M imprint standing for the nib size, but the nib is actually closed to F fine. It is also soft, with some decent flexibility so it will write wider if pressed gently. It is fairly wet nib, suggesting nice inkflow and meant to be used for line variation, either with pressing or writing slower. The pen is in mint condition with minimal to no signs of use, no gold wear off and no personal engravings.
