The pen is made by the well known Kutsuwa company that is famous for their high-quality stationery and office supplies, founded in 1910 as a wholesale stationery store and later on in 1958 becoming the Katsuwa company we know today when they started producing their own distinctive and beautiful writing instruments.
Pens made in Japan are characterized by their unique patterns and beauty and the pen offered here is no exception. Crafted in shiny thick black lacquer and decorated with beautiful Japanese motifs this pen really stands out with its design.
The band on the cap features nice crisp engravings that read “Kutsuwa” and “Made in Japan”.

The pen is smartly engineered with a slightly tapered shape towards the ends. It features a nice precise slip on/off cap which closes nicely. The cap can be posted giving the pen a significantly longer length and stability while writing.

The pen is fitted with a smooth EF extra fine-sized nib made out of steel. A nice touch is given to the nib with the heart-shaped breather hole. It is a smooth writer with a constant ink flow producing nice wet lines.
It is well balanced with a good feel and grip in the hand.
The pen uses a special integrated aerometric converter which is very convenient and easy to use since the only thing you need to do to fill the pen is to press the ribbed bar of the converter and the pen will start filling up.
All in all a beautiful pen with great performance and appeal.
