Vintage Made in West Germany Large DIPLOMAT Gold & Black Lacquer Finish Flexible Steel F Nib Fountain Pen Item ID: DIP-011

This is a rare and beautiful example of the very famous Diplomat pen company in Germany; a pen made in the mid to late 1980s, with a very unique clip design and black lacquer finish. This model was designed to follow the modern form factor at the time and fast and precise slip on/off cap. The pen has a superb build quality, solid metal base, very heavy and with a high manufacturing precision made in West Germany. All trimmings are thick 24k gold plated. The pen is very heavy, with a great grip, feel and balance, which makes for a wonderful writing experience. "Diplomat Germany" inscribed at the top of the gold plated clip embedded in a transparent plastic. The nib is a pure joy to use, super smooth but also quite flexible for a steel nib. It will write anything from F fine to B broad and even wider on the down strokes when pressed gently, writes perfectly without scratching the paper. The pen is very easy to use and maintain, simple to disassemble and clean. Easy and fast to fit with a new cartridge or piston converter. The pen is in mint condition.
