The Legacy line was first presented in September 1995 in black lacquer and caps made with three different finishes which included Palladium, Brushed Gold and Black Lacquer. The line contained four types of writing instruments: Fountain Pen, Rollerball, Ballpoint and Mechanical Pencil.
Pen here is a #842-1 model which is characterized by its traditional style and wider diameter. 

The pen is crafted in black lacquer accented with 23K gold plated trimmings on the clip and the cap band and it features a brushed 23K gold electroplated cap. The thick lacquer finish gives the pen a nice shiny look and protects it from scratches.
The spring loaded clip of the pen features great flexibility which means it can be put over any thick fabric or material without it bending or breaking. The clip is decorated with micro inscriptions that read “Sheaffer” and “USA” on each side, and the recognizable Sheaffer’s white dot, on the front upper part.

This is a heavy pen, designed to perfectly fit a man’s hand; in fact its line was created after the late 1950s and early 1960s Sheaffer PFM ("Pen For Men"). Due to its substantial weight the pen has a perfect balance and feels solid in the hand.

The pen takes Sheaffer refills and it comes with its original refill which could be depleted soon, so after that it can be used for future purchase reference.
