Condition and information:
This is one of the early Montblanc Pix pencils, the model line was made in early to mid 30's. The serial number on the push button is "D.R.P. (Deutsche Reiche Patent) 559824". The mechanism is push button and perfectly functional precise and responsive, with very precise clicks and lead deployment. The mechanism is made out of brass and steel meant to endure work, nearly 80 years after its manufacturing its still foncioning perfectly, a tribute to Montblanc and German quality. The pencil is made out of vulcanized hard rubber body is very thick, the walls are 1.2mm thick, so it cannot crack or deform. This material also gives is a stunning vintage looks, and this material is becoming very popular again in pen production due to its near perfect properties. The pencil is compact but heavy due to the metal mechanism and lower metal tip, so it has a great grip and feel in the hand, very ergonomic. The lead reservoir can take up to 10 1.18 lead refills. With a lead size of this diameter it could be deployed as much as 3-5mm in front of the tip, thus it will provide an great viewing space without breaking the lead stick. The leads are the international standard of 1.18mm, still widely available and used today. Montblanc logo is located on top of the push button. These pencils are simply one of the best pencils ever made, unmatched even today. The pencil is in mint condition, perfectly preserved. All original Montblanc pencil bare the insignia PIX, and are considered one of the best pencils in the world.
