Condition and information:
This is the flagship Senator pen from 60's, the only model with rolled gold cap. This pen was manufactured by the famous Merz & Krell Pen Company. This company had many brands under its name, including Senator, the famous Melbi and others. Some of the features of this pen are nearly identical to some Pelikan, Reform and some other German pens. The nib is large, comparable to Montblanc 144 nibs and Pelikan's 400s. It is extremely good writer, very smooth on the paper, EF (extra fine) size, but with full flexibility. As soon as the nib touches the paper the tines come apart, with no pressure. The writing is unique and varies from EF extra fine to double broad BB, as people in the fountain pen world like to say, "it can express emotions while writing". A perfect high gloss black resin body, and even more shiny 14K rolled gold cap. The pen is highly ergonomic especially when posted due to the heavy cap, perfect length and thickness, very good grip and feel in the hand as well as great balance when posted. Piston is smooth with a double seal silicone cork which always makes for a perfect fit and will never leaks. The pen is in mint condition with no signs of use. A superb Senator pen by the German Senator Merz & Krell Pen Company, amazing writing experience and design.
