Condition and information:
Montblanc model 280 ballpoint pen is a late 60ss production, featuring the famous lever mechanism. This Montblanc patented mechanism, also known as the "11th finger mechanism", is a special design feature where a lever is located under the clip, thus when the pen is placed/hanged into a pocket the pocket fabric passing under the clip will push the lever up and turn the pen off. This is a very convenient feature which makes sure the hanged pen will always turn itself off, thus prevent incidental line marks on the jacket fabric (especially good feature for doctors!). The pen is made out of the unique thick Montblanc plastic, highly processed and deeply brushed. This plastic is difficult to crack or chip even if the pen is dropped, very high quality meant to last. The mechanism is a joy to use, very easy, pushing the lever down will turn the pen on; pushing it up or hanging it into the pocket will turn it off. It is very precise mechanism easy and fast to deploy with a very nice distinct clicking sound. All trimmings are thick gold plated. Big Montblanc star located on the top. The deep brushed finish gives the pen a very special looks, good grip and but also makes the pen stay spotless as no hand oil or fingertips marks stay on the surface. The original Montblanc giant refill is included with the pen, but its nearly depleted, to be used for refill purchase reference. The pen also takes any brand standard or giant refills. The pen is in mint condition, minimal to no signs of use, no scratches, dings or cracks, no gold wear-off, perfect working and cosmetic order ready to be used.
