Condition and information:
Kaweco Transparent was the new model designation for old name Helios, which were made prior WWII. This pen is made in early and mid 60s, and was one of the classic Kaweco pens at the time with gold or gold plated nib. This pen features the Kaweco Ber Contra nib, which was their designation for this era steel gold plated nibs. These pens were build as compact, light, efficient, practical and balanced, with new form factor with expressed edges but still with an extraordinary build quality. The pen unlike later models has gold filled trimmings. Piston is very smooth, easy and it takes a lot of ink. This was done as Kaweco managed to minimize all the piston parts, and again they were the first on the market to do so. Later this system was adopted by other manufacturers. Very beautiful light blue ink window, crisp imprints. The nib even though made out of steel, is fully flexible F fine, and it will write all sizes with little pressure while writing. This is rare for steel nibs, but Kaweco is known for making some of the best flexible steel nibs. In the 1920-30s they made some of the best flexible steel nibs, which were fitted to their flagship pens. This pen can write all the way up to double broad. This will produce a very nice line variation on every stroke, white still very smooth and scratch free, very pleasant to write with. The pen here is in mint condition, with minimal to no signs of use. Great compact writing instrument in its most classic form, one of the all time best classic Kaweco pens.
