Offered here is the so called Imperial model 440 Sheaffer pen. The pen was an entrance model of the more expensive Imperial and PFM pens, but it offered the same design and form factor, as well as the unique embedded nib shape. This is one of the best, the most endurable and reliable Sheaffer pens, very simple to use and maintain. These pens are a high build quality, the pen features a red barrel and grip section with a solid steel radially brushed matte cap for great protection. This cap features the "short clip" version. The cap gives the pen a great writing balance when posted due to its weight, it makes it easy to write it. The pen comes with its original ink converter, but it can also be used with any Sheaffer standard cartridges, so quite versatile and easy to use. The nib is solid steel, F precise fine size, smooth writing nib and great for long and demanding work where one needs reliability and consistency. The nib is embedded in the front section and fully exposed, following the shape of the pen. Only Sheaffer makes such nibs, unique design. This nib is almost impossible to damage, it is very stiff and aside the appeal gives it much more rigidity. Overall this is a great fountain pen which will perform flawlessly as an workhorse everyday fountain pen. The pen is in absolute mint condition, NOS never used condition.
