The Waterman Concord is a pen made to celebrate the Concord airplane, and is one of the most beautiful Waterman pens from the late 1960's and 1970's. The fountain front section, as well as the shape of the nib, resemble the fuselage and nose of the Concord airplane, the most beautiful passenger airplane ever made. There are many Waterman Concorde pens, in many variations, but this must be one of the most beautiful, a deeply brushed gold plated, simply shines. The pen features a streamlined sides on the cap, and a black resin on the grip section. The brushed plastic is thick, and deeply brushed, giving a solid feel in the hand, do not collect hand oil, fingertips or dust, thus always stay clean and provide a great grip. The pen features a solid 18K white gold nib, very precise F fine size, very smooth and easy to use. The nib is semi-flexible, not usually found on these pens, so it will write thicker line with the slight pressure. This is a cartridge filling pen, it can be used with any Waterman cartridges or a bladder or piston converter. Very easy and convenient to open, clean and maintain. The Concord pen is the successors of the famous C/F models, the first Waterman pens to use cartridges, C/F standing for "Cartridge Filler", was the first global fountain pen with the "new" revolutionary disposable cartridge filling system. The form factor and design are unique, modern with a octagonal section of the bodies, hard to believe that the design is more than 50 years old. This is a perfect travelling pen, compact, easy to use, clean and endure hard work. Ergonomically perfect, heavy with great grip, balance and feel in the hand. The pens are in mint condition, minimal to no signs of use, rarely found in such condition.
